OGS Machining is a CNC Job Shop that is currently looking for a full-time CNC Machinist position for 3rd Shift. Standard shop hours are (4) ten-hour days - Mon-Thurs. 8:00pm - 6:00am, with occasional overtime on Fridays as needed. OGS Machining is a medium-volume, production job shop whose average machining order is 100 - 500 pcs. 75% of our jobs are made from bar stock with the remaining 25% are machining castings or billet. All parts can easily be held in your hand, no cranes or material handling equipment are necessary. The majority of our CNC turning equipment is less than 4 years old, and state-of-the-art. Job Summary Responsible for set-up, occasional program editing (at the controls) and operation of variety of CNC Equipment, including vertical mills, horizontal lathes, Swiss lathes for production. Ability to conduct Quality Inspections to meet customer specifications. Essential Functions <ul><li>Setup mills and lathes for production machining.</li><li>Prove out and inspect first piece for each setup.</li><li>Troubleshoot, edit, and optimize existing programs to ensure efficient overall production (most of our programming is done at the control via G-code). </li><li>Document new program changes and processes to ensure setups can be duplicated and overall production time is optimized.</li><li>Oversee the quality of parts produced in the machining cell and for other operators during the shift by using approved gauging and measuring techniques.</li><li>Properly use inspection equipment, production inspection techniques, system software, and follow established OGS quality system procedures, and work instructions.</li><li>To be proactively aware of work load and plan tooling requirements for future jobs ensuring minimum downtime</li><li>To make most efficient use of machinery and equipment, including the use of proper feeds and speeds, cutter compensation and modern programming strategies.</li><li>Inspect and deburr parts to ensure they meet blueprint specifications using proper measuring instruments. Take ownership of the quality of parts you produce.</li><li>Help produce jigs and fixtures that improve productivity</li><li>Use skill and caution to prevent damage to machinery and equipment (crashes, etc)</li><li>Perform basic preventative maintenance on machinery, and keep your work area clean and tidy.</li><li>Follow all safety policies and procedures.</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul>Skills and Requirements <ul><li>At least 2 years experience of working unaided on setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes in a job shop environment.</li><li>Must have a good understanding of CNC programming structure, tooling theory, and speeds / feeds for various materials.</li><li>Previous experience with Fanuc controls preferred.</li><li>Any manual programming or program editing experience is a plus.</li><li>Previous experience with Doosan turning and machining centers is helpful (but not required) - we own a twin-turret Puma TT2100SYY, and a sub-spindle Lynx 2100LYSB, both with Y-axis and live milling. We also have a new Doosan DNM-5700 with Fanuc iHMI control, and Renishaw probing.</li><li>Must be able to identify critical blueprint dimensions and how to inspect/ check these critical dimensions. Essential Function: Our machinist at Silfex are integral in making our high quality precision silicon components. As a machinist you will be responsible for safely setting up and operating 5-axis CNC machines to produce the highest quality parts and meet the customer expectations, in the most efficient manner. <ul><li>Operate 3 to 5-axis CNC machine tools to accurately machine parts per work instructions and per manufacturing plan.</li><li>At all times utilize appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE.) (e.g., shoes, gloves, masks, etc.) to minimize exposure to hazards that cause serious workplace injuries and illnesses.</li><li>Perform quality inspections to ensure accurate production of parts throughout the process.</li><li>Handles parts and materials with great care as well as maintaining cleanliness of them to ensure quality of product and condition of equipment. </li><li>Proactively supports work of department and team by maintaining communication through Teams/ Email and participating in shift change meetings; demonstrating collaboration and problem-solving attributes. </li><li>Accurately record and interpret production information in PLEX such as verifying track numbers, substitute part revision, and machine down time, (etc.).</li><li>Utilize systems to document and review information, including maintenance dispatch, completed Preventative Maintenance, and document measurement scans. </li><li>Produces parts according to standards by utilizing production documentation, correctly loading, and unloading parts on machine, and verifying part orientation.</li><li>Strictly work instructions, setup sheets and other production related information.</li><li>Perform assigned preventative maintenance and maintain coolant lines and nozzle positioning.</li><li>Set up machines for production to ensure they're operating correctly. </li><li>Assist in applying lean manufacturing concepts and 5S. Maintain these areas at the highest degree possible while responsibly escalating any maintenance issues.</li></ul> Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. <ul><li>Minimum of High school diploma or GED. </li><li>3+ years of CNC Machining experience on 3 or 5 axis CNC machines.</li><li>Must have machine control experience. </li><li>Must have shop math skills.</li><li>Microsoft Office experience (specifically Excel)</li><li>Knowledge of 5S and Lean manufacturing concepts.</li><li>Understand tool and machine offsets as well as how to read machine programs.</li><li>Capable of applying standard practices and techniques within their work.</li><li>Detail oriented.</li><li>Quality and safety minded.</li><li>Good written and verbal communication skills.</li></ul> Preferred Qualifications: <ul><li>Certificate from Technical School or Trade School.</li><li>Knowledge of GD&amp;T.</li><li>Experience machining Si, glass or other brittle material.</li></ul> Physical Demands: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
