Position Responsibilities <ul> <li>Prepare machines for production: Set up/qualify/ and ensure part conformance on various 5 Axis CNC machines.</li> <li>Preview and understand machine programs, written set up information, and proper function and operation of machine being set up.</li> <li>Trouble shoot non-conformances derived from programming errors, tooling or part misloading, dull cutters, coolant flow, and operator errors.</li> <li>Training of operators to ensure operational abilities/skills and signing off on said training</li> <li>Ensuring quality standards are met by yourself and operators</li> <li>Communicate discrepancies and non-conformances to immediate lead</li> <li>Utilize measuring equipment in support of quality requirements</li> <li>Record and input in-process measurement data utilizing an ERP system or similar method.</li> <li>Review and interpret complex work instructions, processes, and blueprints, ask clarifying questions</li> <li>Working knowledge of Microsoft office applications: Word, Excel, and Outlook. </li> <li>Maintain machine and operator conformance of production parts.</li> <li>Production work as a member of our team will be required</li> <li>Travel for training and industry education as necessary to maintain skills for position</li></ul> Required Qualifications <ul> <li>High school diploma and two-year technical trade degree or completion of a machinist apprenticeship program. Includes precision instrument makers who fabricate, modify, or repair mechanical instruments. CNC Machinist/Operator

The CNC Machinist role is located in Grandview, MO and reports to our Machine Group Lead. *** DwyerOmega is offering a sign on bonus for CNC Machinists! *** Essential Duties and Responsibilities: <ul><li>Develop new machining processes to produce new parts or parts that have yet to be produced on the CNC equipment. Review part prints to identify tooling and fixture needs, developing new fixtures or altering existing fixtures as needed. Write new CNC programs, complete initial setup and troubleshoot the new process. </li><li>Set-up and install tooling necessary for parts production as directed by the Machining Team Leader. This involves obtaining tooling from the tool storage area, installing in any of the special production machines in the prescribed manner, and making adjustments to produce parts within stated manufacturing tolerances. </li><li>Check first piece dimensions after set-up to assure conformance with engineering prints and quality standards. Use a variety of measuring instruments; i.e. micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, plug and ring gages, etc. </li><li>Train new machine set-up personnel and machine operators in the proper use of the machines and instruct them how to perform quality part checks. </li><li>Advise management of spare parts required for repairs to equipment and tooling, within budget constraints.
