Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Swiss Lathe Machinist / Programmer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for develop Swiss Program based on customer drawings, setup the machine and inspect parts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop set-up sheets, identifies tooling, tooling availability and is responsible for tool life management.
  • Generating CNC programs and installing appropriate tools
  • Edit programs to maximize throughput, reduce tooling expenses, and manage chip buildup.
  • Analyze job orders to determine the sequence of operations, select appropriate cutting tools, and set machine speeds and feed rates. Design and creation of process drawings and manufacturing drawings/blueprints.
  • Quote and develop advanced manufacturing and inspection processes. Review customer drawings for DFM opportunities in collaboration with customers.
  • Working from certified part drawings, utilize required precision measuring instruments to check machine positioning and inspect finished parts
  • Produce parts that meet company and customer standards. Tolerances are typically close but not difficult to maintain.
  • Design or assist in the design of jigs, tools, standard holding fixtures utilizing 3D Model development.
  • Accurately and consistently document all performed tasks on appropriate records (work orders, inspection sheets, maintenance logs, etc)
  • Resolve machining related quality issues
  • Identify excessive cost, develop methods for cost reductions, and implement identified cost reductions.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience on CNC programming,
  • 1 yr CNC turning required
  • 3 years CNC Swiss lathe operation experience strongly desired, not required
  • Experience with Nomura Swiss is highly preferred
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings
  • Knowledge of CNC machine operation and capabilities.
  • Familiarity with raw materials and machining processes.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Comfort with physical aspects of the job, such as wearing safety gear, potentially lifting items, and staying on your feet
