You’ll operate multi-axis automated ultrasonic systems in a repair-station environment, verifying parts and processes against customer engineering requirements using ultrasonic and eddy current methods. This is a technically demanding, Level A inspection role with real ownership: you’ll assume technical responsibility for the NDT facility, equipment, and staff, establish inspection techniques from approved procedures, and provide guidance to trainees. Spirit AeroSystems is now a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, adding Boeing-backed scale to an already established Wichita, Kansas defense and space manufacturing site.

What you'll be doing

• Operate multi-axis automated ultrasonic NDI systems and perform non-destructive inspection in a repair-station environment
• Teach and program multi-axis NDT equipment to execute complex inspection motions
• Set up and standardize NDI equipment, process parts, interpret results, and document acceptance or rejection decisions
• Use ultrasonic and eddy current inspection methods to verify parts and processes meet customer engineering requirements
• Perform all functions associated with Level A inspection requirements, including system performance checks against applicable process standards
• Investigate and document root cause analysis and corrective action (non-disciplinary), and perform audit surveillance on NDI processes, documenting non-conformances per specification
• Interpret codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control NDT methods
• Provide guidance and supervision to trainees, and assume technical responsibility for the NDT facility, equipment, and staff

What we're looking for

Required

• Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance and U.S. citizenship (a clearance active within the past 24 months is considered active)
• Willing and able to work any shift

Preferred

• NAS 410 NDI Level 2 or Level 3 certification (must be able to provide documented proof)
• Associate’s degree or higher in an NDI or NDT field, or equivalent experience considered
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail
• Ultrasonic inspection experience
• Eddy current inspection experience
• Aerospace industry experience

Pay, benefits and schedule

Pay is based on candidate experience and qualifications, market conditions, and business considerations. Summary pay range is $25.09/hour, with potential to earn up to $43.13/hour, in accordance with the terms of the relevant collective bargaining agreement. This is a union-represented position with structured wage progression. Clearance

• Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance required; U.S. citizenship required. A security clearance active within the past 24 months is considered active.
