Why This Role Exists

This role exists to support advanced machining and complex part production at Ichor Systems’ Scotts Valley (Larkin) facility, with a focus on aerospace and high-spec manufacturing.

In this position, you’ll play a key role in setting up and machining complex, tight-tolerance components while helping drive process improvements and mentoring less experienced machinists.

The Work You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

• Set up and optimize new and repeat jobs on 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC milling machines
• Machine complex components requiring tight tolerances and high precision
• Interpret detailed engineering drawings and apply GD&T principles
• Troubleshoot machining issues and implement process improvements
• Monitor production to ensure quality and consistency
• Collaborate with engineering teams on tooling and process optimization
• Ensure compliance with AS9100, ITAR, and internal quality standards
• Mentor junior machinists and support team development

Machines, Controls & Software

You’ll work with equipment such as:

• Machines: 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC milling centers
• Controls: Fanuc / Haas / Siemens-type environments
• Programming: G-code editing at the machine (CAM exposure a plus)
• Inspection Tools: Micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, calipers

What We’re Looking For

Required:

• 10+ years of CNC machining experience
• Advanced experience with multi-axis machining (3–5 axis)
• Strong G-code and machining strategy knowledge
• Deep understanding of GD&T and blueprint interpretation
• Experience machining tight-tolerance aerospace components
• Experience working in regulated environments (AS9100, ITAR, NADCAP)
• Strong troubleshooting and process optimization skills
• Ability to work independently and lead by example

Preferred (Not Required):

• Experience mentoring or leading machinists
• CAM programming exposure (Mastercam or similar)
• Experience with high-mix, low-volume aerospace work
