As demand grows across aerospace and precision manufacturing programs, this position ensures that opportunities are accurately scoped, competitively quoted, and successfully converted into production work.

At Rennscott, the Sales Engineer plays a critical role in driving revenue while maintaining technical integrity—ensuring every proposal is both manufacturable and commercially sound.

The Work You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

  • Own the full RFQ lifecycle from intake to quote delivery and follow-up
  • Analyze technical drawings, specifications, and GD&T to develop accurate cost estimates and lead times
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and suppliers to build complete proposals
  • Coordinate subcontract/vendor quotes for special processes and hardware
  • Develop pricing strategies, risk assessments, and lead time estimates
  • Standardize quoting workflows and improve turnaround times
  • Present technical solutions to customers and translate complex requirements into clear proposals
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for assigned accounts
  • Support contract review, PO processing, and ongoing customer communication
  • Maintain CRM data and track pipeline performance
  • Identify new business opportunities within aerospace and precision manufacturing sectors
  • Support negotiations and help close technically complex deals

Machines, Processes & Technologies

You’ll work closely with teams utilizing:

  • Processes: Advanced CNC machining, metal additive manufacturing (3D printing), machining of AM parts
  • Manufacturing Systems: Automated CNC systems and integrated production workflows
  • Inspection: CMM (Zeiss / Calypso), precision metrology
  • ERP/MES: ProShop MES or similar systems

What We’re Looking For

Required

  • 3+ years of experience in CNC machining, manufacturing, or technical sales engineering
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T
  • Understanding of machining processes, tooling, and manufacturing constraints
  • Experience building or supporting quotes, estimates, or proposals
  • Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail

Preferred

  • Experience with metal additive manufacturing (3D printing)
  • Background in aerospace or regulated manufacturing (AS9100, ISO 9001)
  • Experience with RFQ management, cost estimation, or pricing strategy
  • CRM system experience
  • Exposure to subcontracting or supply chain coordination

Pay, Benefits & Schedule

Pay Range: $75,000 – $105,000/year (DOE)

  • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs
  • Extended computer use for quoting and communication
  • Travel up to 25%
