This role exists to support growing aerospace production programs and increasing inspection complexity. As manufacturing capacity expands and part geometries become more advanced, the need for strong CMM programming, metrology strategy, and aerospace quality compliance becomes critical.

At Quality Products, this position plays a key role in ensuring aerospace components meet strict quality, traceability, and regulatory requirements, while also improving inspection efficiency and manufacturing processes.

The Work You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

• Develop, program, and validate CMM inspection programs for complex aerospace components
• Optimize measurement strategies to ensure accuracy, repeatability, and efficiency
• Interpret and apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5 to inspection methods and acceptance criteria
• Support inspection planning, including selection of measurement techniques and equipment
• Provide technical guidance to Quality Technicians and Inspectors on measurement and GD&T interpretation

First Article & Documentation

• Lead and review First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in accordance with AS9102
• Ensure inspection documentation meets customer, regulatory, and internal requirements
• Verify traceability of materials, processes, and components
• Support preparation of customer data packages, Certificates of Conformance, and compliance documentation

Quality Engineering & Process Support

• Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
• Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering to improve part manufacturability and inspectability
• Support control plan development and process validation activities
• Assist with risk management and product realization processes

Quality System & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with AS9100 Quality Management System requirements
• Support internal, customer, and third-party audits
• Ensure adherence to documented procedures and aerospace regulatory standards

Machines, Controls & Software

You’ll work with inspection and quality systems such as:

CMM Platforms: Zeiss CMM systems (or similar)
CMM Software: Calypso (preferred)
Inspection Tools: Calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, indicators, height gauges, CMM systems
Quality Systems: AS9100, AS9102 First Article Inspection
Engineering Standards: ASME Y14.5 GD&T

Materials You’ll Work With

What We’re Looking For

Required

• Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related) or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing quality or metrology
• Strong experience with CMM operation and programming (Calypso preferred)
• Advanced knowledge of GD&T per ASME Y14.5
• Hands-on experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection
• Experience working within an AS9100 quality management system
• Ability to read and interpret complex aerospace engineering drawings
• Strong computer skills including quality databases, spreadsheets, and reporting tools

Preferred (Not Required)

• Experience with vision systems or automated inspection technologies
• Knowledge of NADCAP-controlled processes
• Familiarity with MSA (Measurement System Analysis) per AIAG guidelines
• ASQ certifications such as CQE, CQT, or CMQ/OE
• Experience supporting customer audits and regulatory compliance reviews
