As a Machinist at DMI, you’ll play a direct role in producing critical tooling and components used in cutting-edge aerospace applications — not just another job shop role.

The Work You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

• Operate manual and/or CNC milling machines and lathes
• Set up tooling, fixtures, and offsets for efficient production
• Machine precision components to tight tolerances
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Perform in-process and final quality checks
• Assemble components as required
• Troubleshoot machining issues and perform routine machine maintenance
• Use hand and power tools to fabricate and finish parts
• Apply lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and reduce waste
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

This is a hands-on role where skill, judgment, and attention to detail matter.

Machines, Controls & Equipment

You’ll work with equipment such as:

Machines:

• CNC Mills & Lathes
• Doosan Mills & Lathes (experience is a plus)

Controls:

• ProtoTRAK (strong plus)
• Fanuc (preferred)

Tooling & Inspection:

• Standard precision inspection tools
• Job shop tooling and fixtures

What We’re Looking For

Required:

• Experience with manual and/or CNC machining (mills and lathes)
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Experience setting up tooling and making adjustments
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced job shop environment
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality

Preferred (Not Required):

• ProtoTRAK CNC experience
• Doosan machine experience
• Fanuc control experience
• Forklift experience
• Lean manufacturing exposure
• Aerospace or precision fabrication background
