Manual Machinist - Altamira Material Solutions (AMS), Multiple Shifts Available

JOB DUTIES:

• Efficiently, carefully and accurately sets-up and operates manual mills and lathes on a wide variety of diversified work
• Uses milling, drilling, grinding, and other machines
• Lays out work and produce quality parts
• Decipher sketches, blueprints, and engineering details with assistance
• Carries a job through from raw materials to the finished products from drawings, sketches, samples or verbal instruction
• Sharpen, rework, reset and repair cutting tools
• Inspect and check parts being produced
• Maintain accurate production records and job history
• Keep a clean and orderly work area
• Performs any other assigned duty as directed by management.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) from an accredited institution required
• 3+ years of experience in machining
• Has a basic knowledge of machine uses and manufacturing materials
• Knowledge of ship mathematics

• Be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks
• Be able to lift and/or move 35 pounds of weight frequently throughout assigned workday
