Manual Machinist

JOB DUTIES:
- Efficiently, carefully and accurately sets-up and operates manual mills and lathes on a wide variety of diversified work
- Uses milling, drilling, grinding, and other machines
- Lays out work and produce quality parts
- Decipher sketches, blueprints, and engineering details with assistance
- Carries a job through from raw materials to the finished products from drawings, sketches, samples or verbal instruction
- Sharpen, rework, reset and repair cutting tools
- Inspect and check parts being produced
- Maintain accurate production records and job history
- Keep a clean and orderly work area
- Performs any other assigned duty as directed by management.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) from an accredited institution required
- 3+ years of experience in machining
- Has a basic knowledge of machine uses and manufacturing materials
- Knowledge of ship mathematics

- Be able to lift and/or move 35 pounds of weight frequently throughout assigned workday
