This is a full P&L General Manager role over a high-volume, low-mix precision Swiss-machining operation serving medical, semiconductor and aerospace & defense customers. The site runs more than two dozen automated Swiss screw machines and needs a leader who is genuinely data-oriented — someone who thinks in metrics and is comfortable bringing in machine-monitoring software rather than running the site on gut feel. Leadership works closely with a broader group of sister operating companies, with shared sales, finance, HR, IT and capital-planning support behind an individually-run site.

What you'll be doing

• Own the site's P&L, cash flow, operating plan and forecast
• Drive throughput, machine utilization and labor efficiency across a high-volume, low-mix Swiss-machining operation
• Bring a data-driven approach to performance management, including evaluating and using machine-monitoring software
• Personally ensure quotations are accurate and reflect true cost, capacity and profitability — accurate quoting is a key responsibility of this role
• Maintain ISO 9001:2015 quality standards and audit readiness
• Lead customer relationships and partner with the broader group's commercial organization on new business and diversification
• Build, coach and retain a capable leadership team

What we're looking for

Required

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations, business or a related field; equivalent manufacturing leadership experience may be considered
• 10+ years of progressively responsible manufacturing experience, including 5+ years of leadership experience with P&L and organizational-performance responsibility
• Demonstrated experience managing a manufacturing operation or business unit with meaningful P&L responsibility
• Strong understanding of machining economics — labor and overhead utilization, capacity planning, quoting and capital investment
• Experience interpreting financial statements, budgets, forecasts and operational performance metrics
• Experience leading and developing salaried and hourly employees

Preferred

• Experience leading a precision-machining, Swiss machining or similarly technical manufacturing operation
• Familiarity with Citizen, Tornos or comparable CNC Swiss-style equipment
• Experience serving medical, semiconductor, aerospace & defense or other highly regulated, demanding markets
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9100D and customer-specific quality requirements
• Experience with ERP systems, production scheduling, job costing and data-driven performance management — JobBoss² experience is a plus
• Background in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, automation and lights-out production
• Experience integrating or operating within a multi-site or private-equity-backed manufacturing organization

Pay, benefits and schedule

$175,000–$190,000 per year, based on experience. Full-time, on-site leadership role.
