This opening is for an experienced machinist who can take an established CNC lathe program and turn it into a reliable, in-spec production run: reading the print, building the setup, and proving it out before signing off on first pieces. Programming knowledge is welcome but not required — the priority is speed and accuracy on setup, offsets, and tooling changes on single-turret horizontal lathes.

What you'll be doing

• Perform complete CNC lathe setups from established programs and setup documentation
• Install and indicate workholding, tooling, jaws, and fixtures
• Set tool and work offsets
• Safely prove out programs and complete first-piece inspections
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and specifications
• Use micrometers, calipers, indicators, thread gages, and other inspection equipment
• Make offset and tooling adjustments to maintain part quality
• Troubleshoot tooling, setup, and machining issues
• Complete required production and quality documentation

Machines, controls and software

Single-turret horizontal CNC lathes, including models with Y-axis and Y-axis/sub-spindle capability, running Fanuc controls.

What we're looking for

Required:

• Previous experience independently setting up CNC lathes
• Strong blueprint-reading and inspection skills
• Ability to work with close tolerances
• Working knowledge of cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and machining practices
• Ability to identify and correct setup or process problems

Preferred:

• CNC programming or program-editing experience

Pay, benefits and schedule

Pay is up to $35 per hour, full-time. DPI Inc. offers health insurance, PTO, a Simple IRA, ongoing training, employee lunches and outings, and a fully air-conditioned facility.
