Aerodyn Engineering is seeking an experienced EDM Machinist / Programmer to join our precision aerospace manufacturing team in Indianapolis, IN. This is a hands-on role focused on Wire EDM, Sinker EDM, and Fast Hole EDM machining — producing complex, tight-tolerance components for the aerospace industry.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and program Wire EDM, Sinker EDM, and Fast Hole EDM machines (Mitsubishi and similar)
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and job routers to meet tolerances of ±0.0005” to ±0.005”
  • Machine aerospace-grade materials such as Inconel, Hastelloy, Titanium, and 17-4 PH
  • Program EDM machines with appropriate feeds, speeds, and depths using G-code (Mastercam and NX experience preferred)
  • Use precision measurement tools (calipers, bore gauges, micrometers, portable CMMs) to verify quality
  • Document work and track job status within ERP systems (Epicor or similar)
  • Collaborate with engineers and machinists to solve technical challenges
  • Participate in overtime as needed, including weekends

Required Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of EDM machining experience in an aerospace or R&D-focused environment
  • Proven ability to program and set up complex EDM jobs (Fast Hole, Wire, and/or Sinker)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with G-code programming, Mastercam and/or Siemens NX preferred
  • Familiar with conventional and CNC machining tools and principles
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
  • Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and professional in communication and conduct
