⚙️ What you'll be doing
In this role, you will:
- Program, set up, and operate a DMG Mori DMU-50 5-axis machining center
- Manufacture complex prototype components from engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical documentation
- Develop machining processes including tooling selection, fixturing, and workholding strategies
- Create, edit, and optimize G & M code programs
- Machine complex components from common and exotic materials while maintaining tight tolerances
- Perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections
- Verify dimensions using precision inspection equipment
- Collaborate with engineers and fellow machinists to solve challenging manufacturing problems
- Work safely in both classified and unclassified manufacturing environments

✅ What we're looking for
Required
- 5+ years of CNC machining experience
- Demonstrated experience setting up and operating DMG Mori DMU-50 5-axis machining centers
- Experience developing machining processes, tooling, and fixturing
- Ability to create and edit G & M code
- Strong blueprint reading skills
- Skilled in shop mathematics
- Precision inspection experience using calipers, micrometers, and verniers
- Reliable, safety-focused, and team-oriented
Education & Experience
- Associate Degree (AAS) in Machining Technology (or equivalent) plus 4 years of experience
OR
- 6 years of prototype machining experience
OR
- Journeyperson qualification plus 4 years of experience
Preferred
- Mastercam experience
- SolidWorks experience
- GD&T interpretation to ASME Y14.5
- Prototype machining experience
- Experience producing tight-tolerance precision components
