The Work You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
- Set up and operate Vertical Turning Lathes (VTLs) for large aerospace components
- Machine parts ranging from 30” up to approximately 70” in diameter
- Run multiple machines within a machining cell when feasible
- Machine aerospace alloys including Inconel, Titanium, and Stainless Steel
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, customer specs, and internal process sheets
- Read and understand CNC programs at the machine
- Use Fanuc controls, including making offsets as required
- Load large parts using fixtures, hoists, and lifting equipment safely
- Read tool sheets and set up tooling for production jobs
- Inspect parts using gauges, swing gauges, calipers, and micrometers
- Apply GD&T knowledge to consistently hold tight tolerances (±0.001”)
- Work with right-angle heads as required
- Support additional duties as assigned by department leadership

What We’re Looking For
Required
- 5+ years of CNC machining experience
- Experience machining large-diameter parts on VTLs
- Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred
- Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills
- Experience adjusting offsets and troubleshooting at the machine
- Strong math skills and calculator proficiency
- Ability to safely load and machine large, heavy components
- Ability to stand for extended periods and climb machine platforms
- Team-oriented mindset and strong communication skills
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
Preferred (Not Required)
- Experience supporting OEMs such as Pratt & Whitney, GE, Rolls-Royce, or similar
- Cell-based manufacturing or multi-machine experience
