Schwab Industries is looking for a CNC Milling Manager to lead milling operations at its Shelby Township, MI facility, supporting aerospace and automotive tooling, stamping, and prototyping work. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing operators and programmers, department safety and quality, and machining performance on large, complex tooling and weldments. What you'll be doing

• Plan, organize, and oversee all milling department operations, assigning personnel and scheduling mill capacity to meet production and delivery requirements
• Lead daily workflow and provide direction to operators and programmers
• Communicate job priorities, engineering changes, and customer requirements to the team
• Monitor on-time job completion, machining hours against estimates, and rework, taking corrective action when results fall short
• Coach employees, provide performance feedback, and support hiring and onboarding
• Support CNC machine setup, operation, and troubleshooting, and direct programmers in effective use of CAM software and machining strategies
• Ensure NC programs, setup sheets, and job documentation are accurate and up to date
• Support machining of large tooling and welded structures, including setup strategy and part stability considerations
• Ensure in-process and final inspection requirements are followed and documented, and support internal and customer audits
• Maintain responsibility for personnel safety, including PPE, lock-out/tag-out, crane, and Hi-Lo safety requirements

What we're looking for

Required

• Minimum of five years CNC milling experience in a manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated supervisory or team leadership experience in a machining or manufacturing environment
• Advanced blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation
• High proficiency in CNC milling operations, setup, and operation (3-axis)
• Experience machining and cutting large weldments, including fixturing and distortion control
• Proficiency with precision measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, indicators, gage pins)
• Proficiency with CAM software (WorkNC preferred)
• Experience with CNC controls including Fanuc, Fidia, and Heidenhain
• Knowledge of lock-out/tag-out procedures and ability to operate crane and Hi-Lo equipment

Preferred

• 5-axis milling experience
• Aerospace tooling, large-format machining, or precision manufacturing experience
