This role supports ongoing aerospace and high-precision manufacturing programs requiring tight-tolerance, multi-axis CNC milling. Barnes Aerospace is expanding 2nd-shift capacity and is seeking skilled machinists who can confidently run complex parts, advanced materials, and modern equipment in a cell-based environment.

The Work You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

• Set up and operate 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC milling machines
• Operate turning machines where applicable
• Run multiple machines simultaneously within manufacturing cells when feasible
• Machine aerospace alloys including Inconel, Titanium, and Stainless Steel
• Read and interpret CNC programs, tool sheets, and operation sheets at the machine
• Make offsets at the control using Fanuc controls
• Set up tooling and fixtures for production runs and job changeovers
• Load and position parts using hoists and safe material-handling practices
• Inspect parts using precision measuring tools during in-process and final inspection
• Apply GD&T knowledge to ensure print compliance
• Consistently hold tight tolerances to the thousandths
• Support continuous improvement, safety, and quality initiatives

You’ll work with equipment such as:

• Machines: 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC milling machines; turning machines (as applicable)
• Controls: Fanuc
• Inspection Tools: Gauges, swing gauges, calipers, micrometers
• Accessories: Right-angle heads, fixtures, hoists

What We’re Looking For

Required

• 3+ years of CNC multi-axis milling experience
• Experience setting up jobs and performing CNC changeovers
• Strong mechanical aptitude and solid math skills
• Ability to read and interpret CNC programs, tool sheets, and blueprints
• Working knowledge of GD&T
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment

Preferred (Not Required)

• 5+ years in aerospace or high-precision manufacturing
• Experience running multiple machines within a cell environment
• Experience with right-angle heads and complex fixturing
