Why This Role Exists
This role exists due to steady workload and upcoming retirements within the milling department. Blue Chip Tool is expanding capacity on its vertical machining centers and is looking for a machinist who can program, set up, and run parts independently.
This position plays a critical role in producing high-precision, low-volume components where attention to detail and machining skill matter more than production speed alone.
If you enjoy variety, problem-solving, and real ownership of your work, this is the kind of shop where that still exists.

The Work You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
- Program, set up, and operate 3-axis and 4-axis CNC vertical machining centers
- Work primarily with FANUC-controlled machines
- Machine high-mix, low-volume precision parts
- Hold tolerances commonly around ±0.001" (tighter when required)
- Read and interpret blueprints, part drawings, and GD&T
- Edit G & M code directly at the machine
- Select tooling, set offsets, and verify setups
- Perform in-process and first-article inspections
- Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust programs as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
This is a hands-on machining role — you’ll see jobs through from setup to finished part.
