The Machinist is a skilled technician who operates CNC milling machines to produce precision manifolds. Their role typically includes reading and interpreting technical blueprints or drawings, setting up machines to meet specifications, and using a variety of tools to shape, cut, and finish metal components to precise dimensions. Machinists must ensure the quality of their work through precise measurements and adjustments, maintain equipment, and adhere to safety standards in the workplace.
Job Qualifications:
- Proficient in setting up, operating, and maintaining various machine tools, including both manual and CNC machines.
- Ability to use precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure parts meet specifications. Basic math and measurement skills.
- Knowledge of selecting and installing appropriate tooling and fixtures for specific jobs.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and awareness.
- Strong self-starter, with great organizational skills to self-manage their day.
- Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of different materials and how they respond to various machining processes.
- Familiarity with CNC programming languages (G-code/ M-code) and software may be required for positions involving CNC machines.
Responsibilities:
Machining:
- Machine Operation: Setting up and operating various machine tools to produce or repair precision parts.
- Print Interpretation: Reading and understanding technical drawings and specifications.
- Quality Control: Inspecting and testing finished products for defects and ensuring they meet specifications.
- Tool Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance on machines and tools to ensure they operate efficiently.
- Safety Compliance: Following safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and standards.
- Uphold a high standard of cleanliness throughout the entire company.
- Maintain a safe and accident-free area within the company and address any possible safety concerns immediately.
