Tecomet is growing and adding to its 1st & 2nd shift CNC team in Lansing, MI. This role supports the production of complex medical, aerospace, and defense components—helping us maintain quality, throughput, and delivery for mission-critical parts.

As a CNC Machinist, you'll work with precision equipment in a climate-controlled facility alongside a team of skilled professionals who take pride in craftsmanship and continuous improvement.

👇 The Work You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

  • Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes within tight tolerances
  • Perform tool changes, minor program edits, and offset adjustments
  • Use micrometers, calipers, and other gauges to ensure part conformance
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and follow work instructions
  • Meet productivity targets while following safety and quality standards
  • Perform basic machine maintenance and hand finishing
  • Record production activity and escalate issues when needed
  • Support 5S, GMP, and continuous improvement initiatives

🧠 Machines, Controls & Software

You’ll work with equipment such as:

  • Machines: CNC mills and lathes (varied brands)
  • Controls: Fanuc, Haas, and similar
  • Inspection Tools: Micrometers, calipers, indicators
  • Documentation Systems: Digital job routers, ERP system entries

✅ What We’re Looking For

Required:

  • 5+ years of CNC machining experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes
  • Comfortable reading blueprints and interpreting GD&T
  • Strong math and measurement skills
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and reliability

Preferred:

  • Associate’s degree or machinist certificate
  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (medical/aerospace)
  • Familiarity with Lean or 5S manufacturing
