Position Overview

The CNC Machinist II plays a key role in the production of precision medical devices by operating and performing basic setups on 3- and 4-axis CNC machines. This position requires the ability to operate multiple CNC machines simultaneously and work with minimal supervision while maintaining strict quality and safety standards.

What You Will Do

  • Perform setups on 3- and 4-axis CNC machines
  • Operate multiple CNC machines simultaneously (mills, lathes, EDM Wire, Plunge, CMM, and manual machines)
  • Monitor machine performance and ensure programs are running correctly
  • Make offsets and machine adjustments with minimal supervision
  • Complete shop work orders, inspection documentation, and daily maintenance sheets
  • Support health and safety for yourself and others
  • Follow all Quality Management System (QMS) procedures and work instructions
  • Complete all required training and support compliance initiatives

Education Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience Qualifications

  • 2+ years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment (Required)
  • Experience operating CNC Mills or Lathes independently (Required)
  • Experience using measuring tools (calipers, height gage, indicators) (Required)
  • Ability to read basic blueprints (Required)
  • Lean Manufacturing experience (Preferred)
  • Medical Device Manufacturing experience (Preferred)

Licenses & Certifications

  • Machining Trade School (Preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

  • Machine setup – Extensive experience
  • GD&T – Extensive experience
  • Blueprint reading – Extensive experience
  • Visual quality inspection and metrology tools
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • High accuracy and attention to detail

Physical Demands

  • Frequent standing and positioning around equipment
  • Frequent handling, adjusting, inspecting, and positioning of parts and tools
  • Occasional movement of equipment within the facility
  • Ability to detect writing, measurements, and defects continuously
  • Frequent communication and information exchange
