Position Overview
The CNC Machinist I contributes to the production of precision medical devices by operating and performing basic setups on 2- and 3-axis CNC machines. This is an ideal opportunity for early-career machinists who want to grow their CNC skills in a regulated, high-quality manufacturing environment.
This role involves operating multiple CNC machines simultaneously with moderate supervision while maintaining strict quality and safety standards.
What You Will Do
- Operate and perform basic machining functions to produce quality parts
- Run multiple CNC machines simultaneously (lathes, EDM Wire, plunge, and manual machines)
- Monitor machine performance to ensure programs are running correctly
- Complete shop work orders, inspection documentation, and daily maintenance sheets
- Make offsets and machine adjustments with moderate supervision
- Follow all Quality Management System (QMS) procedures and work instructions
- Advocate for health and safety for yourself and your teammates
- Complete all required training and compliance activities
- Report directly to the Area Supervisor
Education Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience operating machining equipment in a manufacturing environment (Preferred)
- Lean Manufacturing experience (Preferred)
- Medical Device Manufacturing experience (Preferred)
Licenses & Certifications
- Machining Trade School (Preferred)
Knowledge & Skills That Enable Success
- Working experience with Machine Setup
- Working experience with Blueprint Reading and GD&T
- Working experience with Visual Quality Inspection and metrology tools
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail
- Basic data entry, math skills, and information processing
- Working experience with quality documentation and inspection records
Physical Demands
- Frequent standing and handling of parts and tools
- Constant repetitive handling, adjusting, and inspecting of equipment
- Occasional movement around machinery and equipment
- Frequent ability to detect writing, measurements, and defects
- Frequent communication with team members
