
CNC Machinist
Ellery Manufacturing Ltd. is hiring to fill an Immediate Opening for an Experienced CNC Machinist. We are looking for candidates with a strong general machining background but experience with Vertical Turning and / or Horizontal Boring would be an asset.
This is an opportunity to join a respected machine shop with a 48 year history of delivering quality parts for major industrial customers. You'll be working on a variety of projects in a well equipped, safe shop with a great team of highly skilled machinists.
This position pays up to $43 / HR (based on experience) with comprehensive Benefits and Overtime opportunities. The positions are FULL-TIME, Day Shift (7 AM to 3 PM, Monday to Friday).

Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Setting up and operating CNC machines independently.
- Interpreting and understanding drawings.
- Performing inspections on finished parts to ensure dimensions and finishing specs.
- Using overhead cranes and forklifts to safely move materials and parts.
- Ensuring machines are maintained.
- Maintaining a clean, organized and safe work environment.
- Working with others to resolve production challenges and to improve processes.
Required Experience:
- 5 years of professional, full time CNC Machining experience (not including experience acquired while training or in trade school).
- Red Seal Certification or Journeyman Status is not required, but will be considered an asset.
- Experience working on custom industrial steel parts and a high comfort level machining and handling medium / large parts and materials. Those who do not have qualifying experience working with steel should not apply.
- The ability to use calipers, micrometers, guages and indicators.
- You can safely operate overhead cranes. Forklift experience is an asset but not requied.
- Experience operating hand power tools and grinders.
- Candidates must be proficient in English (both verbal and written).
- Able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Applicants must demonstrate a willingness and ability to follow procedures and be ready to help maintain a safe working environment.
- You are detail oriented and take pride in your work.
