This role exists to support high-precision machining demand at Ichor Systems’ Livermore facility, including complex multi-axis programs and advanced manufacturing work.

In this position, you’ll play a key role in producing tight-tolerance components for high-tech industries, with a strong focus on quality, process ownership, and machining excellence.

The Work You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

• Set up and operate CNC machines including 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis mills and mill-turn equipment
• Work on complex parts requiring multi-axis machining and tight tolerances
• Read and interpret blueprints and apply GD&T principles
• Edit and optimize G-code and machining strategies at the machine
• Select tooling, set offsets, and verify workholding setups
• Perform first-article and in-process inspections
• Troubleshoot machining and setup issues independently
• Collaborate with programmers and engineers to improve processes
• (Senior level) Mentor junior machinists and lead setups on complex jobs

You’ll work with equipment such as:

• Machines: Haas, Makino, Hermle, Nakamura (mills, 5-axis, mill-turn)
• Capabilities: Vertical, Horizontal, 5-Axis Milling, Mill-Turn
• Controls: Fanuc, Siemens, Haas
• CAM Software: Mastercam (or similar)
• Inspection Tools: Micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, calipers

What We’re Looking For

Required:

• 5+ years of CNC machining experience (Level 2–3)
• 10+ years for senior-level roles (Level 4–5)
• Strong understanding of CNC machining processes
• Ability to read blueprints and apply GD&T
• Experience with multi-axis machining (3+ axis required, 5-axis preferred)
• Knowledge of G-code and M-code
• Strong troubleshooting and setup skills
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and team-focused

Preferred (Not Required):

• Experience with Haas, Makino, Hermle, or Nakamura machines
• Experience with Fanuc, Siemens, or Haas controls
• Mastercam or other CAM programming experience
• Background in aerospace, medical, or high-precision industries

Pay Range: $24.09 – $56.73/hr (DOE & level)
