Why this job is worth considering

DPI Inc. is a family-owned precision machine shop in Hatboro, PA that has been producing close-tolerance parts for aerospace, defense, medical, and energy customers since 1988. This is a full-cycle role for a machinist who can take a job from print through first-piece approval — writing and proving out the program, not just running one someone else wrote. It's a good fit for someone who understands tooling, workholding, and feeds and speeds well enough to build a reliable, repeatable process on CNC turning work. Mill-turn, live tooling, or Y-axis experience is a plus.

What you'll be doing

  • Create, edit, and optimize CNC lathe programs
  • Plan machining operations from engineering drawings and specifications
  • Select tooling, inserts, workholding, feeds, and speeds
  • Perform complete CNC lathe setups and set tooling and work offsets
  • Safely prove out new and existing programs
  • Complete first-piece inspections and make necessary corrections
  • Troubleshoot programming, tooling, setup, and machining issues
  • Improve cycle times and process reliability
  • Maintain accurate production and quality documentation

Machines, controls and software

CNC lathes, including mill-turn (lathe with milling) capability, running Fanuc and Haas controls with Mastercam CAM programming.

What we're looking for

Required:

  • Previous CNC lathe programming and setup experience
  • Ability to independently take a part from blueprint to production
  • Strong knowledge of G-code and CNC turning processes
  • Strong blueprint-reading and inspection skills
  • Experience working with close tolerances
  • Knowledge of cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and workholding

Preferred:

  • Experience with live tooling, sub-spindles, or Y-axis turning
  • CAD/CAM programming experience (Mastercam)

Pay, benefits and schedule

Pay is up to $40 per hour, full-time. DPI Inc. offers health insurance, PTO, a Simple IRA, ongoing training, employee lunches and outings, and a fully air-conditioned facility.
