What you'll be doing

• Set up, operate, and adjust CNC lathes and mills using Okuma and Fanuc controls
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and manufacturing specifications
• Select and install tooling, fixtures, and workholding
• Perform offsets, tool changes, and program edits as needed
• Monitor machine operations and inspect parts to meet dimensional and surface finish requirements
• Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and indicators
• Keep your work area clean and organized, and follow safety and quality procedures
• Work with supervisors, engineers, and QC personnel to resolve machining issues
• Perform basic machine maintenance and report mechanical or quality concerns

Machines and controls

• Okuma CNC lathes: the primary equipment for this role
• 3-axis CNC mills: some milling work
• Controls: experience with Okuma and Fanuc controls is preferred

What we're looking for

Required

• High school diploma or GED
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools and inspection techniques
• Ability to work to tight tolerances and maintain high quality standards
• Strong understanding of G-code, with the ability to make program edits at the machine
• Strong math skills and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Preferred

• 5+ years of CNC machining experience in a production or job shop environment
• Experience with Okuma and Fanuc controls
• Technical or vocational training in machining

Pay, benefits and schedule

• Pay: $30–$40/hour, with performance-based raises and bonus opportunities
• Schedule: four 10-hour days, Monday–Thursday, with overtime available on Fridays
• Health: medical and dental are fully covered for employees; family members can be added at the employee's cost
• Time off: paid holidays; after a 90-day probationary period, 3 personal days and 3 sick days, then 150 hours per year every year after that
• Retirement: SEP plan, with the company contributing 25% of employee pay after 2 years of employment
• Environment: air-conditioned and heated shop
