Why This Role Exists
This role exists due to long-term workload stability and upcoming retirements. Blue Chip Tool is adding capacity on the CNC turning side and is looking for an experienced lathe machinist who can program, set up, and run parts independently.
At Blue Chip Tool, this position plays a direct role in producing high-precision, low-volume parts where craftsmanship, accuracy, and accountability matter more than speed alone.
This is not a “stand at the machine and push buttons” role — it’s real machining.

The Work You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
- Program, set up, and operate Mazak 2-axis CNC lathes using Mazatrol at the machine
- Machine high-mix, low-volume precision parts

- Read and interpret blueprints, part drawings, and GD&T
- Select tooling, set offsets, and verify setups
- Perform in-process and first-article inspections
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make program adjustments as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
You’ll see jobs through from setup to finished part, not just one small slice of the process.
