As a CNC Laser Operator at Barnes Aerospace, you’ll play a hands-on role in producing precision components used in critical aerospace applications — where accuracy, consistency, and process discipline matter.

The Work You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
- Set up and operate CNC laser cutting equipment
- Support production on additional equipment such as CNC mills and lathes as needed
- Identify material types and thicknesses and verify accuracy throughout the process
- Troubleshoot machine, tooling, or material-related issues during production
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using precision measuring tools
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions
- Maintain production schedules while meeting quality and safety standards
- Perform daily machine maintenance, cleaning, and basic alignment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Communicate effectively with teammates, leads, engineers, and quality personnel

- Machines: CNC laser cutting systems, CNC mills, CNC lathes
- Inspection Tools: Calipers, micrometers, overlays, pin gauges
- Software: Basic computer usage including Microsoft Word and Excel

What We’re Looking For
Required
- Manufacturing background (aerospace experience preferred)
- Experience setting up or operating CNC or production machinery
- Ability to read drawings and specifications
- Understanding of material properties and basic machining processes
- Experience using precision measuring and inspection tools
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment
- Safety-minded and reliable
Preferred (Not Required)
- Aerospace manufacturing experience
- Experience programming or setting up machinery for sheet metal cutting
- Experience collaborating with engineering, tooling, or quality teams
- Technical or vocational education
