This position plays a key role in machining fabricated structures and weldments used in demanding maritime and defense applications. You'll work on large-scale projects where craftsmanship, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills directly contribute to mission-critical equipment.

The Work You'll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

  • Set up and operate SNK RB-4 and RB-6 CNC bridge and gantry mills
  • Machine large, complex weldments and fabricated components up to 25 feet in size
  • Independently set up intricate parts and fixturing
  • Read and interpret advanced blueprints, engineering drawings, and job layouts
  • Modify and create CNC programs to meet company and customer requirements
  • Verify tool paths and perform collision analysis before machining operations
  • Select tooling and establish machine setups using documented setup procedures
  • Machine stainless steel, aluminum, exotic alloys, and high-temperature materials
  • Maintain dimensional accuracy while meeting production goals
  • Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments
  • Operate overhead cranes and perform rigging for large-part handling
  • Collaborate with quality, engineering, and production teams to ensure successful project completion
  • Maintain equipment and a safe, organized work area

What We're Looking For

Required

  • 3+ years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Multi-axis machining experience
  • Experience with tool path verification and collision analysis
  • Ability to independently perform machine setups
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong understanding of tooling, offsets, and machining processes
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 60 pounds
  • Ability to stand for extended periods

Preferred

  • Fanuc CNC experience
  • Experience machining large weldments and fabricated structures
  • Experience working with weldments up to 90 feet in length
  • Experience establishing and setting up quality gauging
  • Marine, defense, heavy equipment, or large-part machining experience

Schedule

Multiple shifts are available depending on department and current business needs:

1st Shift

  • Monday – Thursday
  • 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM

2nd Shift

  • Monday – Thursday
  • 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM
  • 10% Shift Differential

Weekend Day Shift

  • Friday – Sunday
  • 5:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • 14% Shift Differential

Weekend Night Shift (Rhinelander Facility Only)

  • Friday – Sunday
  • 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM
  • 17% Shift Differential

Shift placement will be based on business needs, experience, and current openings.
