The Work You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

  • Operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)
  • Inspect machined parts and assemblies for dimensional accuracy
  • Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD files
  • Document inspection results and report non-conformances
  • Utilize micrometers, calipers, height gages, and other precision measuring tools
  • Collaborate with machinists and engineers to resolve quality issues
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and support continuous improvement efforts

You will be working within a high-capability CNC machining environment producing large and complex precision components.

  • PC-DMIS
  • Zeiss Calypso (or similar)

Inspection Equipment:

  • Zeiss Contura & DuraMax CMMs
  • Aberlink CMM
  • Mitutoyo Crysta Apex
  • Keyence Measurement Systems
  • Brown & Sharpe CMM
  • Laser micrometers, profilometers
  • Surface plates, gage blocks, bore gages, hardness testers

Materials You’ll Inspect

  • Aluminum
  • Alloy & Stainless Steels
  • Titanium
  • Exotic Alloys
  • Ceramics

Casemer machines virtually all machinable materials, including high-performance alloys.

What We’re Looking For

Required:

  • 2+ years experience as a CMM Inspector in a CNC machining environment
  • Proficiency in CMM programming and operation (PC-DMIS, Zeiss Calypso, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of GD&T
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Preferred:

  • Experience inspecting large machined components
  • Experience in a high-mix job shop environment
