Summary

The part of the organization where this position is located designs, develops, and produces products within the METTLER TOLEDO Vehicle and Heavy Capacity product families and serves in direct support of the Vehicle Scale Strategic Business Unit which develops and implements the strategic direction of the global vehicle scale product line. The Fabrication team requires a safe working, detail-oriented CNC Machine Operator able to operate a CNC Plasma along with other foundational fabrication equipment. What you will do:

  • Complete daily work from a production schedule utilizing blueprints, standard work, and work instructions.
  • Accurately enter data into the ERP (e.g., SAP) system and ensure that inventory is accurately stated.
  • Conduct daily preventative maintenance on machinery.
  • Maintain stock control, pull items for orders, assist other departments, and complete other related duties as required to fulfill customer orders.
  • Complete 5S and Lean improvements in your area.
  • Operate fork trucks and cranes.
  • Perform daily activities safely.
  • Identify and implement safety improvements.
  • Present group performance at the daily Tier 1 meeting.
  • Provide support and guidance to Level I Fabricators.

Qualifications

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 1-3 years minimum experience in similar position and/or Fabricator I based on our Internal Skills Matrix.
  • Experience in a manufacturing and/or warehouse environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret standard blueprints and other engineered documentation.
  • Ability to read tape measure.
  • Ability to understand fractions, decimals, and measurement techniques.
  • Ability to work effectively with torches, cutters, staplers, hand/pneumatic tools, and hand tools (hammers, torque wrench, crow bars, etc.).
  • Ability to safely operate Jib, forklift and overhead cranes.
  • Ability to perform quality inspections on own work and the work of others based on set expectations.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to learn basic computer skills involving SAP, TPM and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to Layout punching locations from a blueprint, along with operating a Punch, and Small and Large Brake.
  • Ability to operate CNC Plasma equipment.
  • Ability to create & modify programs as needed.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and fix problems.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with a focus on details.
  • Ability to work overtime when required (some on weekends).
