CNC Machining Jobs Hiring This Week — August 5, 2026

There are some very good CNC machining jobs open this week.

Not just operator jobs, either.

Shops are hiring experienced machinists, setup people, CNC programmers and CAD/CAM engineers. Several are offering relocation help, strong benefits and schedules that go beyond the standard five-day workweek.

Here are the CNC jobs worth a closer look this week.

Featured CNC Machining Opportunity in Newport News, Virginia

A major defense manufacturer in Newport News is hiring experienced CNC and manual machinists to help build U.S. Navy aircraft carriers and submarines.

These are large-scale machining opportunities with long-term stability.

Pay: $35–$45 per hour
Bonus package: Up to $10,000
Additional support: Relocation assistance and $1,000 in travel support
Experience: At least three years of CNC or manual machining experience
Eligibility: U.S. citizens only

The benefits are excellent. And there probably aren’t many machining jobs where the parts you make eventually become part of an aircraft carrier or submarine.

Major Tool & Machine — Indianapolis, Indiana

Major Tool & Machine is hiring machinists and programmers for some of the largest and most complex CNC work in North America.

Open positions

This is a good fit for people who want to work on large parts instead of running the same small production job every day.

Major Tool supports the aerospace, defense and semiconductor industries. Its shop includes large-format equipment, advanced five-axis machining and Siemens 840D controls.

The CAD/CAM team works with Siemens NX and Vericut.

Machinist roles include a 15% shift differential, paid lunches and relocation assistance. Employees can also choose between eight- and 10-hour schedules.

Metron Machining has openings for both experienced machinists and someone looking to build a career in a CNC shop.

Open positions

Metron produces complex multi-axis and five-axis parts for aerospace, defense, space and energy customers.

Machinists may work with Mastercam programming, in-process probing and CMM inspection. This is real setup and problem-solving work.

The schedules stand out, too.

First and second shifts work four-day weeks. The weekend shift works 36 hours but is paid for 40.

Metron also pays 99% of the employee premium for its Silver health insurance plan.

Benefits include weekly pay, overtime, bonuses, a 401(k) match and a $1,500 sign-on bonus.
