Responsibilities <ul><li>Use caution and support systems to assure safety event free Berry Plastics facilities</li><li>Observe, respond and report any instance of equipment non-conformity, or significant threat of resulting non-conforming product</li><li>Respond to any emergency or potential emergency following established procedures</li><li>Security diligence, including maintaining control of key cards, preventing unauthorized entry to Berry facilities by non-Berry employees, and proper maintenance / security of Berry equipment and information</li><li>Pause activities and notify Safety lead in any facility regarding instances of potentially unsafe work environment or employee practices</li><li>Initiate action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product or quality systems.</li><li>Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels</li><ul><li>Suggest actions for continual improvement to products, processes, or systems and verify the implementation of solutions</li></ul><li>Assist superiors in any day to day activity</li><li>Maintain cleanliness of the shop</li><li>Manufacturing area activities:</li><ul><li>Complete manual machining and supervised CNC machine operation as needed</li></ul><li>Assist with general shop maintenance:</li><ul><li>Develop an understanding of machine functions and the setup process.</li><li>Read blue prints</li><li>Use precision measuring tools to accurately record dimensions of components</li></ul><li>Tooling Design area activities:</li><ul><li>Generate tooling component CAD models and detail drawings using SolidWorks</li><li>Participate in reverse engineering activities</li><li>Maintain and release CAD data for manufacturing</li><li>Provide technical support as needed for new and existing tooling</li></ul><li>Miscellaneous activities:</li><ul><li>Sort and organize hard copy and electronic documents for the Tooling Group</li><li>Scan Documents and Records for archive purposes</li><li>Add, edit, replace or remove archive documents as directed</li><li>Complete Mold Manual maintenance</li></ul><li>Data Entry:</li><li>Assist Finance, Purchasing and Scheduling personnel as requested</li><li>Create files or log shop information as needed</li><li>Maintain reports related to project shipments, labor, and efficiencies </li></ul>Qualifications <ul><li>High School Diploma, required</li><li>Currently enrolled in a Vincennes University's MIP Program.</li><li>Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task.</li><li>Able to work effectively and efficiently with little supervision.</li><li>Able to work with basic Microsoft Office programs.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li></ul>

VU MIP Machining Intern

Job Summary This position will be responsible for installing and repairing electrical and mechanical systems. They will also be doing preventative maintenance to maintain and keeping them in a safe and working order. Responsibilities include <ul> <li>Solving the most complex problems</li> <li>Fixing machines on the manufacturing floor (identifying problem, finding solution, executing)</li> <li>Troubleshooting problems with machines</li> <li>Working with CNC Controls</li> <li>Reading and understanding Electrical Schematics</li> <li>Reading and understanding Mechanical Drawings</li> <li>Performing equipment preventative maintenance</li> <li>Repairing mechanical problems</li> <li>Wiring the most complex electrical systems</li> <li>Assessing projects and creating material lists</li> <li>Installing raceways (conduit bending, wire ways, etc.) with applicable code knowledge</li> <li>Installing multi-phase 120v/240v/480v equipment and installation</li> <li>Installing complicated circuits and automotive wire schematics</li> <li>Demonstrating knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC)</li> <li>Ability to adhere to written and verbal instructions</li> <li>Direct work of other maintenance staff if assigned by Facility Manager</li> <li>Data entry into maintenance database if needed</li> <li>Flexibility and versatility to assume other duties</li> <li>Any additional items as assigned by manager</li></ul>Principle Contacts Inside/Outside the Company This position will be interacting with maintenance personnel, manufacturing engineers, management, and other company employees to address issues.
