ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:<ul><li>Independently perform the highest level of complex machining and programming activities in line with company capabilities</li><li>Be sought out to provide training and/or solutions to less experienced machinists</li><li>Design custom fixtures for production use</li><li>Apply lathe concepts to machine parts more efficiently</li><li>Apply basic true 5th axis machining concepts</li><li>Assist in researching and evaluating new equipment and techniques for departmental enhancements</li><li>Collaborate with Project Managers on project scope, time, and costs for quoting purposes</li><li>Perform essential functions of Machinist II</li><li>Other duties as assigned</li></ul> TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES: <ul><li>Proficient knowledge of 2D and 3D programming and multi axis (3+1 and/or 3+2 indexing) machining</li><li>Advanced knowledge of Lathe concepts including live tooling and dual spindle operations</li><li>Proficient knowledge of complex fixturing techniques</li><li>Proficient knowledge of print reading, high tolerance machining and geometric dimensioning</li><li>Proficient knowledge of shop mechanics, mathematics, and measurement</li><li>Proficient knowledge of material properties</li><li>Proficient knowledge of commonly used hand and power tools</li><li>Basic computer literacy, including Fusion 360 or related CAM software</li></ul> BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES: <ul><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with team members</li><li>Demonstrates motivation and accountability to achieve individual and department goals</li><li>Possesses initiative and personal accountability to meet work demands and work effectively under pressure with limited supervision</li><li>Exercises sound judgement in ambiguous situations when time is critical </li><li>Grasps basic concepts, anticipate possible problems and generate solutions with basic problem-solving skills </li><li>Ability to respond and adapt quickly to changing circumstances and facility needs</li><li>Possess an attention to detail and commitment to effectively produce quality work</li><li>Demonstrates teamwork by sharing knowledge and helping where needed</li></ul> EDUCATION &amp; PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:<ul><li>High School Diploma required</li><li>2-year Machining Degree preferred</li><li>5 years' experience with Sac EDM or 7+ years of relevant machining experience (programming, setup, and running equipment) in a related industry</li></ul> PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:<ul><li>Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time </li><li>Ability to use hands and fingers to operate computers, equipment, hand/power tools, etc. and handle and feel parts of various size</li><li>Ability to bend, kneel and crouch occasionally throughout a shift</li><li>Ability to push, pull or lift 50 lbs. moderately throughout a workday, occasionally 50+lbs with a team lift</li><li>Ability to focus vision for: close vision, color vision, depth perception and adjusting to sharp focus</li></ul> WORK ENVIRONMENT:<ul><li>Fast-paced environment </li><li>Noise conditions can be moderate to extreme.
