Essential Functions <ul><li>Work independently without assistance</li><li>Follow established quality and safety standards</li><li>Receive work instructions, operation sheets, setup sheets, 1st piece and in-process check sheets from department supervision indicating such information as part and operation number to be performed</li><li>Read and interpret dimensional drawings, tool setup sheets and manufacturing instructions in performing required machining operations.</li><li>Complete full machine setups without any supervision and/or assistance necessary</li><li>Work with Engineering on developmental projects</li><li>Train and assist level I and level II CNC Machinists</li><li>Operate various types of computer numeric controlled production machines in the machining of forgings made from various types of metal such as stainless steel, aluminum, chrome-nickel, Inconel, titanium, etc.; machine forgings to close tolerance, e.g. +/- .001; operate multiple machines at the same time</li><li>Load and unload pieces manually or with hoist; apply coolant lubricant and change worn or damaged tools as required</li><li>Use precision or standard measuring devices such as inside and outside micrometers, dial indicators, Vernier scales, fixed frame gauges or special gauges, profilometers, etc. to check machined dimensions and surface finishes conforming to customer prints and/or specifications</li><li>Exercise care in handling material before and after the machining operation</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul>Basic Qualifications <ul><li>A minimum of 7 years' CNC Milling experience required</li><li>Aerospace industry experience required</li><li>Experience with large parts, large milling required.</li></ul> Preferred Qualifications <ul><li>Okuma controls experience highly desired</li><li>Ability to run more than 1 piece of equipment at a time</li><li>Turning experience preferred in addition to the required Milling experience.</li></ul> Skills <ul><li>Knowledge of basic machining principles, GD&amp;T, blueprint reading and program reading</li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills</li><li>Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills</li><li>Strong analytical skills to analyze and resolve difficult problems effectively and implement long-term solutions</li><li>Ability to use hand tools, measuring instruments and gages to ensure proper setups and machining operations.</li></ul>We thrive when the expectations are great, and the barriers are high. CNC Milling Machinist III (1st shift)

We are currently seeking a CNC Machinist/Machine Operator for a unique opportunity on our manufacturing team in Appleton, WI. Our shop is not your typical machine shop. As a CNC Machinist/Machine Operator, you will be an integral part of a successful team and will be responsible for operating the vertical turning centers that produce specialized products and components for the aerospace industry. In this role, you will be able to work with new state-of-the art equipment in a safe, clean, air and climate-controlled environment. This is a weekend night shift, Friday-Sunday, 5pm-5am. Scheduled to work 36 hours but paid for 40! This position also includes an additional $1/hour shift differential for working the weekend night shift. Training will be on 1st or 2nd shift (weekdays). A successful CNC Machinist/Machine Operator is a problem solver, safety-focused and understands the importance of precision and quality. To be successful, you must learn ATI, our products, customers and procedures and work collaboratively with other CNC Machinists and cross-functional teams to ensure product is manufactured to quality and customer specifications. Responsibilities <ul><li>Receives work instructions, operation sheets, setup sheets, 1st piece and in-process check sheets from department supervision indicating the operations to be performed </li><li>Reads and interprets dimension drawings, sketches, tool setup sheets and manufacturing instructions for performing required machining operation and setups </li><li>Uses operational drawings to determine required dimensions, travels and tolerance to be maintained </li><li>Oversees and controls the operation of machining centers in the machining of forgings made from various types of super alloys with full support of the engineering and programming departments </li><li>Uses precision or standard measuring devices that are completely furnished by the company, such as scales, inside and outside micrometers, dial indicators, Vernier scales, fixed frame gauges or special gauges and profilometers to check machined dimensions and surface finishes conforming to customer prints and/or specifications </li><li>Loads and unloads pieces using an overhead hoist </li><li>Exercises care in handling material before and after the machining operation.</li></ul>Basic Qualifications <ul><li>1 year of experience in a transferrable industry with transferrable skills.</li></ul> Preferred Qualifications <ul><li>High School Diploma or Equivalent, Vo-Tech Certificate or Associate degree in electrical, mechanical or another related curriculum.</li></ul> Skills <ul><li>Strong knowledge of basic machining principles</li><li>Basic reading, math and measurement comprehension; the ability to read instructions and perform simple measurements is critical</li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills </li><li>Able to work effectively and collaboratively with cross-functional teams </li><li>Able to work both independently and as part of a high-performing team </li><li>Strong analytical skills to analyze and resolve difficult problems effectively and implement long-term solutions </li><li>Strong attention to details and highly organized </li><li>Able to lift 50 pounds </li><li>Must successfully complete pre-employment evaluation. </li></ul> We offer benefit eligibility the 1st of the month following the date of hire + up to 8% employer 401(k) contribution and match + 15 days of paid time off per year + 12 paid holidays per year. This position qualifies for a $4,000 new hire bonus paid in 2 increments as follows: $2,000 paid after 60 days of employment and $2,000 paid after 120 days of employment.
