CNC Machinist We are seeking Night Shift (4 PM - 2:30 AM) Machinists, who have experience with on-floor programming of machines, to join our team. Our Grand Rapids tool &amp; die shops design and produce large Class-A stamping dies for our customers. We are looking for individuals who are Innovative, Problem-Solving Partners to Join Us. As a machinist your Key Responsibilities will include: • On-Floor programming of machines using Work NC • Read operator or process documents and perform setups and operations as necessary • Prove out programs on the floor with NC programmers • Operate Large Horizontal, Vertical and 5-Axis CNC Mills in a low-volume / high-mix environment • Regularly perform milling, drilling and tapping tasks. • Communicate with team members on possible design and process improvement initiatives • Machine complex components to tight tolerances in various materials with tight deadlines • Use various inspection and measurement tools to validate your work • Document and track processes and results Successful candidates should have: • A minimum of 2 years' experience operating Large Horizontal or Vertical CNC mills on Tooling work (metal die casting, stampings) • 5 Axis CNC operating experience beneficial • On-floor programming experience requested • Thorough knowledge and understanding of engineering drawings, documents, and GD&amp;T • Thorough knowledge in the use of measurement and inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauge pins, bore gauges, optical comparator, etc. • Excellent attention to detail, mathematical skills, and mechanical aptitude • Verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with team members, leaders and program managers as needed. • Be a team player, punctual, reliable, safety-conscious, and responsive to change and direction • Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform essential functions of the position, with or without accommodation, without posing danger to self or others Shift Night Shift (4 PM - 2:30 AM), 5 days a week Pay Compensation is based on experience. CNC Machinist, Night Shift

Description Consideration for Fall of 2024 is CLOSED. We are now accepting applications for the next class (August 2025). Our CNC Machinist Apprentice program is a combination of classroom training along with working alongside a skilled CNC Machinist. After completing 648 hours of hands-on learning and 8,000 hours of on-the-job training, the Apprentice will obtain the Department of Labor Machinist Journeyman's card with 27 articulated credits towards an associate degree in manufacturing. CNC Machinist Apprentice Responsibilities: <ul><li>Operate manual and automated machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments.</li><li>Maintain and repair machine tools and equipment.</li><li>Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, or technical orders to determine the specific operation to be performed.</li><li>Measure dimensions of finished workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.</li><li>Set up and adjust machines, such as lathes, milling machines and grinders</li><li>Read part prints and job orders for all product specifications, i.e., dimensions, tolerances, inspection, number of parts to be machined and tooling instructions such as cutting speeds, feed rates, depth of cuts, and cutting tools required</li><li>Use machine controls to cycle machine through; production operations, set-up, adjusting tool positions, and changing tools. Role As a CNC Machinist (also known as CNC Mill Operator, CNC Programmer), you'll operate and maintain DMG 5-AXIS machines, adhere to AS9100 standards, interpret blueprints, program G-Code and M-Code, and perform machine setups for production runs.
