CNC Machinist
We are seeking Night Shift (4 PM - 2:30 AM) Machinists, who have experience with on-floor programming of machines, to join our team. Our Grand Rapids tool & die shops design and produce large Class-A stamping dies for our customers. We are looking for individuals who are Innovative, Problem-Solving Partners to Join Us.
As a machinist your Key Responsibilities will include:
• On-Floor programming of machines using Work NC
• Read operator or process documents and perform setups and operations as necessary
• Prove out programs on the floor with NC programmers
• Operate Large Horizontal, Vertical and 5-Axis CNC Mills in a low-volume / high-mix environment
• Regularly perform milling, drilling and tapping tasks.
• Communicate with team members on possible design and process improvement initiatives
• Machine complex components to tight tolerances in various materials with tight deadlines
• Use various inspection and measurement tools to validate your work
• Document and track processes and results
Successful candidates should have:
• A minimum of 2 years' experience operating Large Horizontal or Vertical CNC mills on Tooling work (metal die casting, stampings)
• 5 Axis CNC operating experience beneficial
• On-floor programming experience requested
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of engineering drawings, documents, and GD&T
• Thorough knowledge in the use of measurement and inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauge pins, bore gauges, optical comparator, etc.
• Excellent attention to detail, mathematical skills, and mechanical aptitude
• Verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with team members, leaders and program managers as needed.
• Be a team player, punctual, reliable, safety-conscious, and responsive to change and direction
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform essential functions of the position, with or without accommodation, without posing danger to self or others

Night Shift (4 PM - 2:30 AM), 5 days a week
Pay
Compensation is based on experience. Plus 10% Night Shift Premium.
