I. Job Summary Monday through Thursday 6:00am to 3:30 pm and Friday 6:00am to 10:00 am with some overtime. Responsible for assembly of composite parts as directed by work orders; finish parts by laying out, bond, trim, drill, countersink, fill, and sand. May also apply markings, and package parts after completion. Includes use of small hand tools such as drills and sanders, along with operating a 5-Axis machine. II. Essential Job Functions • Reads blueprints, diagrams, process sheets, and schematic drawings. • Examines products for defects, performing required tests, measurement of performance, need for required adjustments and verification of specified tolerances. • Wet lay-up, vacuum bagging, and de-burring. • Mark and cut tape, woven material, honeycomb, adhesive and similar materials following templates, guides or specific dimensions and sequences. • Records information on appropriates production records, logs and other report forms, including oracle transactions to assure traceability is maintained throughout fabrication and assembly. • Performs re-work as required. Repairs defective products rejected by inspection or test personnel. • Use small hand tools, such as rollers, paper cutters, scissors, x-acto, knives, electric heat gun, drills, sanders, and fixtures such as trim tools. • Mix and apply resins, bonding adhesives, etc. • Must be able to track all time and temperature sensitive materials to assure no out of date material is incorporated into part fabrication. • Must be able to handle a flexible schedule, to include Saturdays as needed. • Must be able to perform all employee related duties to include 5-Axis machining, tool prep, hand trim, assembly operations, mechanical test coupon cutting. • Work to build and enhance a team approach in addressing and accomplishing departmental goals. • Assist in achieving standards of quality for every order processed through the department and to strive for continuous improvement and sustained levels of excellence for the internal as well as external customers. • Work to ensure cleanliness of department areas for the purpose of promoting Park's NICHE culture with respect to employment at Park Aerospace Corp. Milling & Lathe - CNC Machinist (Night Shift - 15% differential)

Description Autocam Medical is a global contract manufacturer of orthopedic implants, spinal implants, precision instruments and orthopedic cutting tools. We offer a value-added approach to high-precision manufacturing, with specialties in CNC milling, turning and cutter grinding. We are seeking a CNC Machinist to set-up and operate single and/or multiple spindle machines, including monitoring and control of the quality of machining processes by utilizing process control tools and to maintain the production processes and work within the expected quality standards and efficiencies that are established for the product line. Job Responsibilities <ul><li>Read part prints and job orders for all product specifications, i.e., dimensions, tolerances, inspection, number of parts to be machined and tooling instructions such as; cutting speeds, feed rates, depth of cuts, and cutting tools required.</li></ul><ul><li>Use machine controls to cycle machine through; production operations, set-up, adjusting tool positions, and changing tools. Also to review machine operating criteria such as cycle time and spindle rpm.</li><li>Install specified collets, bushings, and stock pushers onto stock feeding mechanism and loads bar stock into feeding mechanism.</li><li>Install and adjust specified cams, gears and stops to control stock and tool movements at each station.</li><li>Change, position and secure tools in tool holders by utilizing tool monitoring system and presetting equipment.</li><li>Perform first piece sample inspection according to the operation control plan. By utilizing qualified measuring devices, the machinist monitors the part dimensions through continuous checking of part features and process control tools (such as SPC).</li><li>Maintain all lubricants and coolants, and other operator maintenance, on the machine that are used in daily operation.</li><li>Perform data collection and communication tasks in MRP system (Epicor) and other applications.</li><li>Keep work area clean and organized.</li><li>Participate in continuous improvement activities and use the accepted tools, such as - brainstorming, C&amp;E, tool tryout sheets.</li></ul> Requirements <ul><li>The machinist is required to be on their feet ten to twelve hours per day using their hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear around machinery.
