CNC Set-up Operator

General Purpose: The CNC Swiss Machine Operator is responsible for producing high-quality parts and materials by programming machines and operating computer numerical control CNC machines. The CNC operator will ensure machines are set up correctly, load material, monitor the machine during operation and perform quality control checks on the finished parts. The goal is to produce accurate and precise parts according to the specifications provided. Responsibilities: <ul><li>Prepare and operate CNC machines.</li><li>Understand the specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, etc.</li><li>Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate a large number of parts.</li><li>Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result.</li><li>Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly.</li><li>Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality.</li><li>Operate machine, and perform machine start-up procedures.</li><li>Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly.</li><li>Conduct regular checks and maintenance on machinery to ensure functionality.</li><li>Performs technical end-of-shift duties, end-of-job procedures, and housekeeping procedures.</li><li>Observes safety policies including personal protective equipment requirements and hazardous/emergency procedures.</li><li>Follow instructions from supervisors to perform tasks.</li><li>Must be able to cross-train in multiple departments as needed.</li><li>Sort materials and transfer them to designated locations at the job site.</li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned.</li></ul>Education/Experience: 1-3 years of proven experience as a CNC Swiss Machine Operator. Previous experience in a manufacturing shop environment or similar role. High School Diploma or GED preferred. Language Skills: Will be required to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos, to write correspondence, memos, and schedule; to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests, clients, and fellow staff. Mathematical Skills: Basic math skills required. Physical Demands: <ul><li>Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.</li><li>Prolonged periods of standing. </li><li>Occasional periods of walking and standing. </li><li>Must be able to lift 20 - 40 pounds at a time.</li><li>Occasionally climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches. </li><li>Consistently turning and moving of hands, arms, feet, and legs.</li></ul>Environment/Noise: Most work is performed indoors.
