Requirements ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: <ul><li>Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&amp;T).</li><li>Successfully setup proven / existing programs and processes with minimum supervision / guidance.</li><li>Proficiency in setting up either vertical or horizontal CNC multi axis machining centers or multi turret lathes with multi-part holding fixtures including defining work and tool offsets.</li><li>Setup and measurement of tooling in a variety of holders.</li><li>Schedules production through the machining depart using travelers and with the available equipment and manpower to meet customer due dates. </li><li>Sets-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices; tramming heads.</li><li>Train operators to properly operate and to perform preventive maintenance on both CNC equipment and computer components.</li><li>Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces; adhering to international standards.</li><li>Uses CAD modeling to fabricate and design tools an fixtures.</li><li>Analyzed tool usage including selection, design, and integration in order to reduce cycle time while maintaining quality output.</li><li>Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes</li><li>Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.</li><li>Demonstrates cooperative communication with other departments and functions of including production, machining, welding, purchasing, engineering, and other corporate leaders.</li><li>Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for contributions and leading by example; and exploring opportunities to add value to accomplishments new and existing jobs.</li><li>Follow quality control standards to ensure meeting quality and quantity requirements.</li><li>Maintains safe operations by adhering the safety protocols and regulations.</li><li>Monitor wear of consumable tools and notify purchasing as required.</li><li>Accurately report work performed.</li><li>Keep work area neat and orderly and follow all safe work practice requirements.</li><li>Maintain identification of all parts and materials and record location of same.</li><li>Report abnormal machine operating conditions immediately.</li><li>Performs all other duties as assigned.</li></ul>Qualifications: <ul><li>High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required and 3 years CNC experience strongly desired.</li><li>Must be able to successfully operate an overhead crane</li><li>Must be familiar wih CAD equipment</li><li>Possess and practice good oral and written communication skills.</li><li>Treat fellow co-workers with dignity and respect.</li><li>Possess and utilize basic math skills and exercise superior organizational skills</li><li>Prior CNC, production machine and/or welding experience highly desired.</li><li>Maintain and exhibit a positive attitude toward our work and our work environment.</li><li>Demonstrated experience with hand and power tools, banders, hoists, and other production equipment, as well as an overall mechanical aptitude</li><li>Forklift certification required.</li><li>Participate in training events (ie; Lockout/Tagout; HazCom; and overhead crane training)</li></ul>Knowledge: GD&amp;T conceptual skills, process improvement, verbal communication, functional and technical skills, controls and instrumentation, supply management, tooling, coordination, inventory control, attention to detail, and sound judgment. This is a third shift position PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES <ul><li>Interprets and understand simple and complex part drawings.</li><li>Uses precision measuring tools such as micrometers, Vernier's, scales, protractors, compass, height gage, dial indicators, etc. </li><li>Uses machine control codes, computers, and part nesting, DNC links, and file transfers to produce parts.</li><li>Utilizes machine control capabilities to make simple part programs, prove out programs and edit programs as a normal part of the setup and operation of CNC machines and related equipment.</li><li>Performs normal operator maintenance as prescribed by equipment builder to include the replacement of consumable materials and parts. </li><li>Performs multiple activities simultaneously, organizes work, and takes corrective action in response to error messages and/or process interruptions. </li><li>Assists with supervision in the training of other machine operators and helpers. </li><li>Diagnoses machine problems and repair of the machines. </li><li>Assumes leadership role and takes responsibility for overall performance of equipment.</li><li>Meets production standards by monitoring machine performance to include managing up time and quality standards. Tools include micrometers, Vernier's, scales, protractors, compass, height gage, dial indicator, tape measure, go-no-go gauges and squares. MATERIALS Personal protective equipment to include safety glasses, steel toed shoes, hearing protection, welding apron, face shield, and appropriate gloves. GENERAL Works under minimal supervision. Must be a self-starter with excellent problem solving and decision making skills. Acts decisively with a sense of urgency to maximize machine production and minimize down time. Strong knowledge of mathematics, to include geometry, to determine unknown part dimensions and/or relationships. Knowledge of metal types and characteristics. Understanding of the part use, fit and function as well as the manufacturing processes utilized is essential. Experience working with computers and machine controls.
