CNC Machinist II

Job Summary All-round creative and hands-on CNC Machinist who can use sketches, pictures, and general ideas, to draw in CAD parts and assemblies to make fixturing, stamping tooling and injection molding for small parts. The CNC Machinist takes their CAD, programs (CAM) and the various CNC equipment to build tooling to assist in the assembly of jewelry or plastic injection molding. The CNC Machinist is part of a team that builds their own prototypes or small batches using CAD/CAM and CNC. Essential Functions • Ability to read measurement equipment such as micrometer, caliper and height gauges. • Operate typical machine shop equipment including but not limited to mills, lathes, drill presses, surface grinders and saws. • Ability to create 3D CAD models, use CAM software to generate toolpaths and able to CNC machine those parts. • Work with minimal supervision and limited detailed drawings or blueprints. • Ability to take initiative and complete projects from CAD to part including inspection with minimal supervision. CNC Machinist- Multiple Openings - 2nd Shift

McNally Industries, located in Northwestern WI, is looking for 2 nd shift machinists. Enjoy working in a clean, modern, climate-controlled work environment, and a 4-day work week, Monday - Thursday. DESCRIPTION: The CNC lathe machinist will perform accurate and timely set-ups utilizing Haas horizontal lathes. Proficient in accurate change-over of machine set-ups. Ensure conformance to customer requirements using calibrated measuring equipment and visual inspection. Record and comprehend company work instructions and set-up books. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: <ul><li>Setup and operate CNC lathe for production operation.</li><li>Observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls as needed.</li><li>Responsible for DNC communications, downloading tool programs.</li><li>Inspect and measure parts according to set-up book inspection callouts.</li><li>Monitor and replace tools in accordance with tool life management system, document all tool changes.</li><li>Ensure company procedures and "best machining practices" are being followed.</li><li>Perform additional related duties as assigned.</li><li>Comply with applicable environmental, health and safety laws and regulations, Company policy and accepted safe work practices.</li></ul> EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: <ul><li>Minimum 5 years CNC lathe experience in a manufacturing environment.</li><li>Demonstrated ability at operating CNC Machines and interpreting G &amp; M codes.</li><li>Changing cutting tools and accurately adjusting offsets.</li><li>Ability to set-up jobs independently.</li><li>Ability to read part drawings, apply GD&amp;T concepts and rules to understand geometric requirements.</li><li>Ability to correctly use and interpret measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, thread gages, chamfer gages, pin gage, test indicators, drop indicators, height gages, optical comparators.</li><li>Implement 6S concepts.</li><li>Basic computer skills: Excel, Word, Outlook.</li><li>Detail oriented and strong organizational skills.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li></ul>PHYSICAL DEMANDS WHILE PERFORMING THE JOB: <ul><li>Standing for long periods of time, walking, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, or crouching, use hands to finger, handle, or feel parts; reaching with hands and arms and overhead; talking and/or hearing instructions and sounds.</li><li>Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.</li><li>Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.</li><li>Ability to differentiate shades and color to identify coating defects.</li><li>Near acuity and accommodation are required for reading dial and digital gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of coating operations.</li></ul>WORKING ENVIRONMENT OF THE JOB: <ul><li>Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.</li></ul><ul><li>Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.</li><li>High noise levels from operating machines.</li><li>Physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts.</li><li>The employee will be required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent exposure to hazardous materials commonly used in a manufacturing environment.</li></ul>
