This is not a button-pushing job—you’ll work hands-on with heavy fabrications and castings in a high-mix, low-volume job shop environment.<h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Set up and operate horizontal boring mills and vertical turning lathes (CNC &amp; manual).</li><li>Perform editing and light programming at the machine (Fanuc controls; Mastercam experience preferred).</li><li>Work independently from blueprints and part drawings.</li><li>Machine large steel fabrications and castings to tight tolerances.</li><li>Use precision measuring tools to verify dimensions.</li><li>Collaborate with our programming and engineering teams to optimize processes.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Minimum 5 years of recent hands-on machining experience.</li><li>Strong setup skills on horizontal boring mills and/or vertical lathes.</li><li>Experience with Fanuc controls; familiarity with Mastercam and SolidWorks a plus.</li><li>Ability to machine both castings and large fabrications.</li><li>Self-sufficient in machine setup and operation with minimal supervision.</li><li>Comfortable using micrometers, calipers, and other precision inspection tools.</li></ul><h3>Machines You’ll Work With</h3>Our shop includes:<ul><li>Toshiba, Shibaura, TOS, and Union Horizontal Boring Mills</li><li>Toshiba and Morando Vertical Boring &amp; Turning Machines (up to 215” rotary table)</li><li>Okuma Gantry Mill, US Burke Millright, multiple lathes, radial drills, and keyseaters</li><li>FARO Arm CMM &amp; Laser Tracker for inspection</li></ul><h3>Work Schedule</h3><ul><li>Monday–Friday, 5:30 AM – 4:00/5:00 PM</li><li>Optional Saturday mornings</li><li>55–60 hours/week typical (plenty of overtime available)</li></ul><h3>Compensation &amp; Benefits</h3><ul><li>$30–$44/hr based on experience + OT</li><li>Relocation assistance available for the right candidate</li><li>Paid apprenticeship program (school costs covered by company)</li><li>Benefits include:<ul><li>Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance</li><li>401(k) with 4–6% company match (based on company performance)</li><li>13 Paid Holidays + your Birthday</li><li>PTO (negotiable)</li><li>Company-paid life insurance</li></ul></li></ul><h2>Why Join G.J.
