Traveling OK — Contract 5-Axis Setup Machinist (Matsuura MX-520 preferred) — Fife, WA — 90 days — OT + Per Diem

BPI Medical (Fife, WA) is seeking a contract 5-axis setup machinist for an ASAP start on a 90-day on-site assignment (8-hour shift). We manufacture orthopedic and spinal medical devices in Ti / CoCr / Stainless and need a hands-on professional who can independently set up and prove out simultaneous 5-axis work and hand off stable production.

Machine / Controls

• 5-axis VMC; Matsuura MX-520 experience strongly preferred
• Controls: Fanuc / HEIDENHAIN (etc.) (either is acceptable if you can ramp quickly)

What you’ll do

• Full setup ownership: work holding/fixtures, offsets, probing strategy, tool verification
• First-article prove out (safe run-up, process stabilization) and production handoff
• Coordinate with QA/inspection to meet medical-grade acceptance criteria

Must-haves

• Demonstrated 5-axis setup + prove out ownership (not operator-only)
• Solid performance in Ti + CoCr + SS
• Strong fundamentals: GD&T awareness, disciplined documentation, clean process control
