Employment Type: Temporary (Employed through a Third-Party Agency)

We are seeking a Temporary Machine Operator for a temporary position. You will perform set-up, operation, and minor maintenance of equipment in assigned work area.

Please note that this role will be employed and managed by a third-party staffing agency, not directly by Methode Electronics, Inc. The selected candidate will be on the payroll of the staffing agency and will adhere to their employment policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Set up, alter programs and operate CNC machine centers
  • Knowledge of maintenance and repair of machines
  • Meet with engineers to discuss potential machine problems
  • Complete documentation for parts made
  • Verify parts to print
  • Assist the Machine Shop Supervisor in all phases of process improvements of CNC programs
  • Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, and machining parameters, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances
  • Document actions by completing production and quality logs.
  • Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions all while maintaining a neat and orderly work area that comply with all safety rule
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required; CNC Certification preferred
  • At least 2 years of direct experience
  • Must be familiar with speed and feed for exotic materials
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of G-Code and M-Code
  • Experience in operating CNC Lathes and CNC Mills
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and routings
  • Experience with Mazaks & Mastercam programming preferred
  • Mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, and perform geometric calculations and conversions
  • Good verbal/written communication skills in order to interact with colleagues preferred
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to occasionally carry and lift up to 50 pounds to perform various duties
