At NAECO, the Swiss CNC Manager plays a critical leadership role — overseeing Swiss lathe programming, setups, and daily production while mentoring a skilled team of machinists. This position directly impacts quality, throughput, and on-time delivery for OEM customers who rely on precision and consistency.

The Work You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

• Program Swiss CNC lathes using PartMaker CAM software
• Calculate cycle times using math, geometry, and trigonometry
• Prove out and optimize Swiss CNC programs
• Oversee setup and daily operation of Swiss machines
• Supervise and mentor a team of 4 Swiss CNC machinists
• Ensure parts meet blueprint specifications and tight tolerances
• Interpret blueprints, work orders, and GD&T
• Collaborate closely with Engineering on new part production
• Perform and verify first-article inspections
• Monitor in-process quality and dimensional accuracy
• Troubleshoot machining issues and coordinate maintenance or repairs
• Enforce safety procedures and lean manufacturing practices

This is a hands-on leadership role — ideal for a senior Swiss programmer or lead machinist ready to manage both people and process.

• Citizen Swiss CNC lathes
• Tornos Swiss CNC lathes

Controls:

• Swiss CNC controls (machine-specific)

CAM Software:

• PartMaker (preferred)

Inspection Tools:

• Micrometers
• Calipers
• Optical comparator

What We’re Looking For

Required:

• 5+ years of Swiss CNC setup experience
• 5+ years of Swiss CNC programming experience
• Strong CAD/CAM background (PartMaker experience a plus)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
• Experience with tooling, offsets, and machine maintenance
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Quality-driven mindset with strong attention to detail

Preferred (Not Required):

• Prior supervisory or team leadership experience
• Lean manufacturing experience
• Associate degree or equivalent work experience
• Experience working with tight tolerances (±0.0002)
