Interested in automotive, aerospace, or alternative energy manufacturing?  AST offers the chance to work on all three. We are seeking a senior equipment engineer to help keep our shop in top running shape. 

Job Description:

This position will be responsible for learning about the ins and outs of all our manufacturing machines and helping to get a handle on how to efficiently keep things running.  This individual must be self-motivated and unafraid to jump into the manufacturing floor and learn the intricacies of what works and doesn’t work.  This individual must also be organized and a team player with good communication skills to work with both technicians and other engineers. This is an excellent career opportunity with a company experiencing ongoing growth in exciting fields.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Establishing and documenting critical spare parts for all machines.
  • Establishing a documented PM program for all machines.
  • Establish a machine monitoring system to track productivity and up-time.
  • Making training documentation for operators to perform simple PM tasks.
  • Communicating with maintenance team about important projects.
  • Participating in new machine procurement to understand how it will impact the manufacturing floor.
  • Identify inefficiencies in machine operation and implementing improvements.
  • Modifying machine parameters to fit production needs.
  • Participating in machine rebuild decisions and design.

In addition, the candidate should be prepared to learn machine limitations and be able to participate in discussions about production planning.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field from a four-year college or university.
  • Mid to Senior level: 3-5 years related experience.
  • Experience with CNC machine tools.
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office (Ideal candidate would be familiar with a CMMS system and have exposure to CAD software, especially Solidworks)
  • Work experience in a manufacturing environment +++
  • Experience with Opto-22 or E2 JobBoss +++
  • Experience with PLC programming +++
