POSITION: Shop Supervisor (Structural CNC Processing)

SHIFT: 6:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday (Overtime as required)

PAY RATE: Competitive Salary (DOE) + Full Benefit Package

LOCATION: Lubbock, TX

TrueNorth Steel is looking for a proven leader to join our team as the Shop Supervisor, leading our production on our structural product line. This position will provide leadership for their area of responsibility by coordinating with Team Leads and Planner/Schedulers prior to production launch dates; ensure that all assets are deployed/redeployed as to maximum efficiencies of every production order.

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Follow and administer all company safety and quality requirements.
  • Ensure that all personnel are actively working to meet or exceed department and company goals.
  • Supervise direct reports.
  • Perform employee engagement meetings.
  • Direct work schedules and jobs to completion.
  • Manage staffing plans and employee levels in various areas.
  • Work directly with planning/scheduling, inventory control manager, and logistics to plan work for shop.
  • Time and Labor Management-
    • Review and make corrections daily to labor time reporting.
    • Review and approve PTO for direct reports.
    • Approve bi-weekly time for Payroll.
  • Review and correct labor reporting in jobs in ERP system (ShopTrak).
  • Make recommendations for staffing needs and training.
  • Hire, terminate, train direct reports, and address employee issues. Work to improve labor efficiency and productivity requirements.
  • Utilize human, material, and machine resources in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Maintain shop discipline.
  • Coordinate and/or verify material requirements.
  • Schedule and process orders in accordance with schedule requirements.
  • Communicate maintenance requirements for equipment and facility.
  • Participate in training programs.
  • Participate in production meetings.
  • Keep shop operating in an efficient and effective manner at all times.
  • Responsible for the requisition and control of production consumables.
  • Conduct "Tool Box" safety topic discussions weekly with Safety Coordinator.
  • Willing to work flexible hours and overtime or weekends as needed.
  • Prompt and dependable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 5 years CNC Equipment Experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Lean manufacturing experience preferred.
  • CNC controls experience preferred.
