Full Time
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for supporting precision manufacturing services through programming and operation of machinery and the application of engineering technology. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will prepare and adhere to estimates and schedules and guide and mentor indirect reports as they develop, test, modify and create solutions to technical problems.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform advanced manufacturing techniques to produce conforming product
  • Develop complex manufacturing processes and documentation:
    • Tooling selection, work-holding, machining and finishing processes, work instructions, control plans, etc.
  • Create custom tooling and fixtures as needed to support the prototype manufacturing and qualification cycle
  • Understand and apply GD&T
  • Use precision inspection and validation instruments (optical comparator, micrometers, standard measurement test equipment)
  • Collaborate with project team to generate new, creative solutions to bring product concepts to completion
  • Coordinate and adhere to project schedules with internal staff, customers and supply chain
  • Train and mentor manufacturing engineers, technicians and interns
  • Troubleshoot production issues with project team members
  • Prepare budgets
  • Maintain a work environment that is clean, organized & meets safety standards
  • Develop a broad knowledge base of technologies used in the markets served and JAKTOOL's capabilities to support sales
  • Participate in periodic product development and design review meetings
  • Apply problem-solving techniques, i.e., root-cause analysis, to develop solutions
  • Work independently on assignments and able to multi-task on several projects
  • Travel up to 10% for attendance at trade shows, conferences, customer meetings, and sales support
  • Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION:
  • B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical \ Aerospace \ Industrial engineering
  • Ideal candidate will have at least 5-8 years manufacturing experience post-graduation
SKILLS + EXPERIENCE:
  • Solid & proven experience as a Manufacturing/Process/CNC Engineer
  • Skilled in a CNC Machining Environment within a Lean Culture
  • CNC Programming and Execution Experience Required
  • Familiarity with Mastercam, HAAS, DMG Mori
  • ISO 9001 Experience
  • Excellent analytical, communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
  • Clear understanding of GD&T Standards
