Job Summary:

The Senior CNC Machinist and Programmer is responsible for efficiently meeting production and quality objectives while developing and standardizing CNC programming processes, coordinating closely with Value Stream Managers to ensure seamless operations and timely delivery.

Primary Job Duties:
  • Develop and enhance MasterCAM capabilities, establishing a centralized library for all CNC programs to improve process efficiency and consistency.
  • Coordinate with the Value Stream Manager to align cell production schedules with broader manufacturing goals and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with Wilo Machine to implement their engineering and tooling systems at AMP, ensuring smooth integration and process standardization.
  • Serve as the key point of contact between the CNC Cell and production teams, providing updates on open orders, addressing material shortages, and communicating equipment breakdowns or order re-schedule dates.
  • Participate actively in daily production meetings with all stakeholders, reporting on capacity levels, order statuses, and necessary schedule adjustments.
  • Prepare and present a monthly management review report summarizing the CNC work cell's performance, challenges, and critical metrics.
  • Perform root cause analysis on production challenges, identifying issues, and developing solutions as the CNC Lead at AMP.
  • Review and analyze design requirements, developing CNC programs and standardized tooling to meet customer specifications and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with order writers, engineering, quality assurance, and manufacturing teams to ensure alignment and resolve production issues.
  • Oversee employee scheduling within the CNC work cell to ensure production targets are met, and resources effectively utilized.

Pay Range: Commensurate with experience.

Shift/hours: Normal business hours are 6 am to 2:45 pm; overtime is available.

Requirements

Education and Experience:
  • 3-10 years of hands-on CNC machining experience, with a strong understanding of programming and operations.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a CNC environment.
  • Proficiency in MasterCAM and CNC programming is required.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments and manage complex production schedules.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, prioritize, and manage multiple production tasks while maintaining quality standards.
  • Extensive knowledge of CNC programming, tooling development, and work instruction standardization.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot issues, coordinate with relevant team members, and resolve production problems effectively.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Technical degree in a relevant field or completion of a machinist apprentice program.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience in developing standardized tooling and work instructions.
