
Quality Manager
Work Schedule: 1st Shift - M-F 6:00 am - 3:30 pm
Primus Aerospace is currently seeking a Quality Manager at our Reisterstown MD facility. We are a leading manufacturing partner to aerospace, defense & space OEMs / Primes & Tier I suppliers. The company specializes in producing high-tolerance, complex geometry parts; machined out of standard and exotic metals. Primus works directly with all major aerospace manufacturers (e.g., Boeing, Lockheed, Northrop) to provide components to mission critical civilian and defense programs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and daily direction to quality inspectors and other personnel.
- Hire, develop, and evaluate quality department personnel.
- Assist and train inspectors to utilize proper inspection processes and techniques.
- Manage Quality Department personnel work schedules and overtime budget.
- Selection, calibration, and maintenance of measurement equipment including CMMs, gages, and other tools.
- Develop inspection and in process control plans for parts.
- Supporting production in part measurement, scrap reduction.
- Develop quality metrics and drive continuous improvement.
- Review contracts
- Lead material review board activities and ensuring all non-compliant material is dispositioned.
- Perform internal audits to ensure compliance to quality system.
- Review inspector metrics and perform inspector evaluations.
- Manage customer quality escape notifications, DMRs, complaints, RMAs, and corrective & preventive actions.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment
- 5 years of machining experience
- 3-5 years of leadership, experience managing a team of 5-15 employees
- Demonstrated experience using GD&T and a full range of measurement techniques
- Strong analytical skills, including data analysis and visualization
- Working knowledge of ISO9001 and AS9100
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Six Sigma certification preferred.
- Ability to obtain security clearance.
