We’re an established aerospace machining company in Santa Ana, CA, seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager to lead our inspection and quality team. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who takes pride in ensuring excellence at every stage of production.
You’ll oversee a skilled QC team, drive compliance with AS9100 standards, and work directly with machinists, engineers, and customers to maintain the highest quality benchmarks in the industry.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and mentor a team of CMM Programmers, Inspectors, and QC Technicians (4 total)
- Oversee inspection processes and ensure all quality procedures meet AS9100 requirements
- Develop and review First Article Inspections (FAI – Forms 1, 2, and 3)
- Program and operate CMM and Faro Arm using Verisurf/PC-DMIS for part geometry inspections
- Create and manage detailed inspection plans, including drawing ballooning per customer specs
- Utilize inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and surface gauges
- Communicate directly with customers and on-site source inspectors to resolve quality concerns
- Collaborate cross-functionally with machinists, engineers, programmers, and management to improve processes and maintain consistent quality standards
What You Bring
- Proven experience leading a Quality Control team in an aerospace manufacturing environment
- Advanced knowledge of AS9100, FAI, and GD&T principles
- Strong CMM and Faro Arm programming background (Verisurf/PC-DMIS required)
- Hands-on inspection and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Team-oriented mindset with a proactive, detail-driven approach
